Some first-time offenses are serious enough to warrant a hearing, however, possible considerations will be given in individual circumstances. When a student has engaged in conduct that is in violation of criminal law, whether the conduct constitutes a misdemeanor, gross misdemeanor, felony, or any other class of criminal conduct, the advisor must report that information to the Faculty Council. Hearing: Faculty Council meets for membership review.Warning: The issuance of a written warning.Dismissal or other discipline may vary depending on the violation.Manifests truthfulness in acknowledging obedience of rules, refuses to cheat, and shows an unwillingness to profit by the mistakes of others.Observes instructions and rules, punctuality and faithfulness in obligations both inside and outside the classroom.Shows courtesy, concern and respect for others.Upholds principles of morality and ethics.The failure of a member to report to his or her advisor, within 48 hours, regarding any violation of the above standards of conduct may also result in discipline, as further described below. EASD Conduct Code and other applicable student conduct policies.State, federal, civil, and criminal laws.Members of the NHS at the EASD are subject to the standards and conduct embodied in the following: Once you are established as a member of the National Honor Society, you are expected to uphold this conduct code until completion of your eligibility or such time that you are no longer a member of NHS. In addition to the rules and regulations listed in the EASD Student Handbook, the Code of Conduct will also govern all students who participate in National Honor Society. You must also conduct yourself so as not to impair, but benefit the welfare or educational opportunities of others in the EASD. Your behavior and actions must be exemplary at all times and befitting the expectations of your peers, advisors, school district administration, community, and faculty council. Ebersole Chapter of National Honor Society (NHS), you are a public figure responsible for representing your school district in the most positive way.
